Mobility as a Service
It all starts with the calculation of a multimodal trip plan by the MENTZ algorithm. Public transport and other interfaces (APIs) provide data in NaPTAN, TxC, NeTEx or SIRI format. In addition, data from transport sharing providers are integrated via API, like details about the catch area, precise vehicle location, vehicle type, and other attributes such as current charging status (for eMobility), license plate number (for car-sharing), stop name, rental details, general price information, etc.

A corresponding ticket is directly booked after successful trip planning. The ticket shop is connected via API. NeTEx provides fare information and ticket data. After selecting a trip option, special interfaces enable rental vehicles (car, bike, eScooter sharing) to be booked and reserved and payment options to be displayed. Access to a personal customer profile at the sharing provider is provided via an additional API.

Payment for a public transport or shared mobility ticket is processed through an API connection to the e-ticket shop with access to the (possibly external) biller. While public transport tickets are paid directly, payment for an external car, bike, or scooter-sharer is not due until after the rental vehicle has been returned.
