The Public Utility Company of Oberhausen facilitates payment with the STOAG app
The app of the Public Utility Company of Oberhausen (STOAG) has become a bit more practical with the introduction of mobile ticketing. Via the ticket shop integrated by MENTZ, STOAG passengers can conveniently purchase a bus and tram ticket directly from the journey planner – without needing to search for loose change.
Due to its clear design, app users gain a quick overview of all routes, trip times and ticket prices. There are notifications on booked routes, and if activated, even proactive push messages for personalized and frequently travelled routes. This way commuters know immediately whether the bus to the office is running a bit late or if the tram home is on time. STOAG offers app users exclusive tickets in the app shop: in addition to standard single trip tickets, 4-trip tickets, short-distance tickets and additional trip tickets, also available are 10-trip tickets, HappyHourTickets, 7-day and 30-day tickets.
Cashless payment is particularly useful during the ongoing Corona crisis. Online purchases can be made immediately following one-time registration with an e-mail address and payment option setup. Instead of having to present a paper ticket, passengers simply show a QR code on their mobile phone display when boarding or to a ticket inspector.
